Counseling

Life can be overwhelming at times, but having a relationship with a our counselors could mean you don’t have to deal with those issues alone.  Allow our professional staff to walk with you. You may talk with your personal counselor about your daily struggles and hardships as well as your joys and excitements in a safe confidential setting.  Our counselors will help you process the issues that affect your daily life and give guidance for dealing with them. We offer both individual counseling and group counseling.

Behavioral and Social Skills Development

Behavioral and social skills development is an essential component for improving the behavioral health of our clients. Skills taught and practiced can help clients function better in their environments and equip them to appropriately interact with other individuals in their lives. Skills development is provided in several need areas:

  • Anger Management

  • Oppositional Defiance

  • Improving Symptoms Related to ADD and ADHD

  • Relationship Development

  • Depression Coping

  • Anxiety and Stress Management

Psychiatric Services/Medication Management

When working with clients with behavioral and mental health needs, medication is often used along with other interventions to give clients a more complete behavioral and mental health treatment. Our licensed psychiatrist conducts psychiatric evaluations and administers and manages all medication matters for our children and adults.

DBT Treatment

What is DBT?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of therapy that helps people of all ages — children, teens, and adults — who are dealing with tough challenges in different parts of their lives. It’s especially helpful for those who feel overwhelmed by strong emotions, struggle with relationships, or find it hard to manage certain behaviors. DBT is used to treat a variety of mental health concerns and helps people build skills to cope, connect, and thrive.

Parent/Family Intervention 

Our staff realizes that when one person in the home has behavioral and mental health issues, those issues can affect the functioning of the family as well.  We welcome and, in some cases, even seek the participation of the family in the client's treatment and recovery.

Child-Parent Psychotherapy

This treatment is designed for younger children (6 and under) and their parents or caregivers. This intervention is used to help young children recover from trauma or traumatic experiences and improve the parent/child relationship. It requires the participation of the child as well as the parent/caregiver.

Independent Living Skills

Independent living skills  are designed to assist children who are or will be transitioning to adulthood with support in acquiring, retaining and improving self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to be successful in the domains of employment, housing, education and community life to reside successfully in home and community settings.

Crisis Intervention

Crisis intervention services are provided to persons who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and are designed to interrupt and/or improve a crisis experience. Our crisis services extend beyond our office hours. During non-office hours our clients may call our crisis line to talk to a clinical staff member who can help to handle the crisis.    

Advocacy and Referrals 

As we learn about the different needs of our clients we educate them about the different community resources and connect them to key people and programs that will result in getting their additional needs met.

Bridges To Adulthood

Our Bridges to Adulthood Program offers treatment and support services to Emerging Adults ages 18-23. The program focuses on mental health issues that arise from adjustment difficulties during the transition from older adolescence to adulthood. Support services heavily target matters specifically related to the emerging adult development period and offers a great assistance for helping young people spring into adulthood.
